I absolutely LOVE this idea! It is hysterical. I don’t know if I’ll ever have a baby in Texas. This is something my husband would not understand. Silly non texans. How was TX? Good luck with the girl, they are SO sweet.

That’s adorable. Texas is such a special state. I still miss it even after 12 years away. I’ve told Alan that we have to take a family vacation to Texas one of these days! Think ya’ll will ever move back?

em, our friends in OK had a similar tradition for their baby — this was from our friend that waited a little over two years to become an OK resident as they asked him to “surrender” his TX DL at the DPS, and you know Texans don’t surrender!

they brought in a Texas flag, and Texas dirt so the baby could be born under the Texas flag and over Texas soil.

That is great!!! I wish I had known about that when Faith was born but it’s OK that she is a Southern baby but she will grow up in TX! That is such a great idea though! (See I need to be at the birth so I can represent the Lone Star State!)
